THE CHASE

Personal

This short cinematic was an excuse to experiment with Unreal Engine 5's Take Recorder. I used Epic Games’ City Sample project as the base for the environment and assets, allowing me to focus on the car animations and movement.

To make the cars move realistically, I decided to try out the Take Recorder plugin. Instead of simply animating the cars, I physically drove them through multiple takes, capturing their real-time movement to create the car animations. It was a hands-on approach that helped me achieve more authentic and natural results within my skillset.

The camera work was keyframe directly in Sequencer, where I animated and edited everything to get the right shots. My workflow was inspired by Loïc Scalbert’s techniques.

This was a super fun project that taught me a lot about Unreal Engine's tools and gave me the chance to experiment with new animation techniques.
